Polish Associated Partners_5

Polskie dzieci zaprosiły węgierskie i czeskie, aby przyłączyły się do nich poprzez Internet i pokazały im swoje rodziny, sale, zabawki, place zabaw i interesujące miejsca. Rodzice ofiarowali ogromny tort ozdobiony flagami i symbolem programu Comenius. Był naprawdę smaczny!

Polish Associated Partners_4

Parents offered a huge cake decorated with the flags of three countries and Comenius symbol. It was really delicious!

Polish Associated Partners_3

Children sang Polish and English songs and danced traditional national dances. They greeted their partners in their languages. All invited guests were impressed.

The Comenius project called WINDOW was accepted by the National Agencies in Warsaw, Budapest and Prague. Yesterday there was a ceremony of the official opening of the project.

Polish Associated Partners

Pre-school No26 in Jastrzębie Zdrój is our associated partner. Teachers and children liked the idea of our Comenius project “A Slice of Bread”. The children wanted to find out what kids in other European countries can see out of their windows. Polish pre-school invited Hungarian and Czech children to join them via the Internet and show them their families, their rooms, toys, playgrounds and many interesting places.

Czech tongue twisters

Here are some well known Czech tongue twisters with their English meaning. The most difficult sound in Czech language is ř - which is R with a wedge. We use this sign ˇ above s, z, c, t, d and n to soften these consonants. Good luck with Czech pronunciation!

Strč prst skrz krk.
Push a finger through the throat.
Třista třicet tři stříbrných stříkaček stříkalo přes třista třicet tři stříbrných střech.
333 silver fire engines shot over 333 silver roofs.
Měla babka vrabce v kapse,
Vrabec babce v kapse píp,
Zmáčkla babka vrabce v kapse,
Vrabec babce v kapse chcíp.
An old lady had a bird in her pocket and it peeped, she squeezed the bird and it died.

Já rád játra, ty rád játra.
I like livers, you lile livers.

Nenaolejuje-li koleje Julie, naolejuji je sám.
If Julie doesn´t oil the rails, I´ll oil them myself.
Petře, nepřepepři pepřem toho vepře.
Peter, don´t over-pepper that hog with pepper.

More pics from the day with grade 9

Three girls from 7B. You see the bus in the background, don't you? Bergkvarabuss is a very big bus company here from Sweden. It started in Bergkvara about 30 years ago. Have you seen these buses in the Czech and Poland too?

A short break before we go over to new activities.

Caroline helped the students to bake muffins in the Home Economics room.

Yummy, yummy! The cake mixture tastes so good ........

Go wheelbarrow (in Swedish: gå skottkärra). What do you call it in Czech and Polish?

Sack jumping. We say säcklöpning in Sweden. How do you say?

Hit the mark ... but you have to wait for your turn.

Some 9 graders are checking that the competitors are doing right.

Here we go ..... This exercise will make your arms stronger.

All the "candy string" should be swalled before you are done.

Do you like cola strings? What are your favourite sweets?
