Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel engagement
The Swedish king today informed the Swedish prime minister that Crown Princess Victoria has been engaged to Daniel Westling. Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt gave his approval to the engagement, which is now official. It has been a long way to the engagement. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden cannot marry just anyone, because she will one day become head of state, therefore the government has to give its approval. Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel has been together since 2002 and there has long been speculation about the “man of the people” who came from a small town and found his sweetheart from the Drottningholm Palace.

W roku 2007 Zespół Szkół nr 11 w Jastrzębiu Zdroju wnioskował o grant z Unii Europejskiej w ramach programu Comenius – Uczenie się przez całe życie. W Listopadzie 2007r otrzymaliśmy grant na realizację projektu „A Slice of Bread” – „Kromka chleba” we współpracy ze szkołami: Torskolan w Torsås, Szwecja oraz Základní škola w Dubu nad Moravou, Czechy.
W 2008 roku za przyznany przez Unię Europejską grant zakupiono sprzęt potrzebny do realizacji projektu: komputer, drukarkę, gilotynę, laminator, bindownicę, laptop, urządzenie wielofunkcyjne, tablicę interaktywną, kamerę video, CD player, mobilną tablicę interaktywną oraz oprogramowanie i akcesoria komputerowe. Podłączono pracownię języka angielskiego do Internetu oraz zorganizowano kurs dla nauczycieli. Ponadto zakupiono materiały na stroje i dekoracje do przedstawienia „Mała czerwona kurka”, które było zaprezentowane publiczności podczas Dni Otwartych 2008 oraz z okazji uroczystości 25-lecia szkoły.
Realizując zobowiązania programu Comenius, w zakresie mobilności, czyli obowiązkowych wyjazdów do szkół partnerskich, 21 uczniów i nauczycieli odwiedziło szkoły w Szwecji i Czechach. Grupa projektu pracowała nad dwoma produktami finalnymi: książką i kalendarzem. Obydwie pozycje zostały zrealizowane. W maju 2009 nasi partnerzy przyjadą do Polski z pięciodniową wizytą. W czerwcu 2009 nastąpi zakończenie projektu partnerstwa szkół „A Slice of Bread”. 20 lutego 2009 grupa powiększona o nowych partnerów złożyła kolejny wniosek o grant.
W trakcie realizacji projektu grupa zaczęła prowadzić wspólny blog, który stał się jednocześnie formą dokumentacji projektu.
The grant which we received in November 2007 from the European Union program: Comenius - Lifelong Learning allowed us to purchase the following office machines: a computer, printer, office guillotine, comb binder, laminator, multifunctional printer, CD recorder, digital camcorder, mobile interactive board, laptop and multimedia equipment. Besides we were able to set up the Little Red Hen play which was presented to pre-school children and their parents and during the ceremony of the 25th anniversary of our school. Instead of 12 required mobilities, 21 students and teachers visited our partners in Dub nad Moravou and Torsas. An English course has been held for teachers. 20 February the Project Group submitted a new application form.

Fettisdagen
On February 24 it is Fat Tuesday in Sweden. We say "Fettisdagen" in Swedish. This is the day when you have to try this creamy bun called semla. The word semla derives from the latin simila that means fine wheat flour. It is a wheat-flour bun filled with almond paste and whipped cream and it tastes delicious…..

Topic:Let's sing "London's Burning!"
London is burning but we have a very big problem. We want to send letters to our Spanish epals in Barcelona. Everybody has his or her letter but Norbert is absent today. He is ill and Ms Roffin's students are looking forward to our letters. Norbert's epal is sad when everybody in his class has a letter but there is no letter for him.
Then our teacher has an idea. Let's write one letter together. Kuba is writing a letter and then everybody is writing his/her name. Ms Roffin's all students are happy when the postman delivers our letter! Now we are looking forward to Spanish letters!!!
